A memorial service will be held at a later date for James "Jim" Junior Scritchfield, 85, a former Ceres resident. He died on July 2, 2012 with his family by his side at his home in Rogersville, Mo.

Cremation was handled under the care of J.D.Lee and Sons Funeral Home in Rogersville.

Born July 14, 1926 in Miller, Mo., to George and Hattie E. Scritchfield, Jim grew up in Ash Grove and then left for California when he was 16, where he worked in the shipyards in Richmond. Due to health issues, Jim and Bonnie moved to Ceres in 1974, where they stayed until moving to Branson in 2000. They then moved to Rogersville in 2007 to be closer to family. Jim was a long-time member of the Church of Christ and served as a deacon for many years.

He leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Bonnie Scritchfield of Rogersville, Mo.; a daughter, Janice Knox of Rogersville, Mo.; his brother, Bill Scritchfield of Branson, Mo.; two sisters, Bonnie Jenkins of Branson, Mo., and Rosa Underdown of British Columbia; two grandchildren, Dr. Jaimee Givens of Rogersville, Mo., and Shane Knox of Fieldbrook; two great-granddaughters, Caitlin Starlin of Rogersville and Zoey Knox of Fieldbrook; and two great-great-grandchildren, Camila Rose Starlin and Parker James Starlin.
