Services were held Saturday at Our Lady of the Light Chapel in Modesto for Eileen Stout, 66, of Ceres. She died July 14, 2012 with her family by her side.

Born Nov. 29, 1945 in St Petersburg, Fla., to Douglas and Margaret Sheehan, Eileen worked for 35 years as an Alaskan educator and property manager for Pleasant Apartments in Ceres at the time of her death. Growing up in a military family, Eileen spent most of their childhood moving from different cities throughout the United States and Europe. She spent her first few years of high school at Marin Catholic in San Rafael, then graduated high school at Ben Eielson Air Force in Fairbanks, Alaska. Eileen graduated with a B.A. in Education from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks.

Mrs. Stout lived in Ceres since 1976. She played tennis at the SOS Club and won multiple inter-club and Northern California tournaments, including a National Championship. She also enjoyed her grandchildren, wine, fishing, reading, movies, and antique shopping.

She leaves behind her husband of 44 years, Miles Stout of Ceres; her sons, Christopher Stout of Minneapolis, Minn., and Sean Stout of Las Vegas, Nev.; her parents, Ret. Col. Douglas and Margaret Sheehan of Las Vegas; two sisters, Mary Simmons of Anchorage, Alaska, and Maggie Sheehan-Carson of Riverdale, Ga.; her brothers, Ed Sheehan of Haverhill, Mass., Mike Sheehan and Kevin Sheehan, both of Anchorage, and John Sheehan of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren: Ella Stout, Matthew Stout, Willy Stout, and Samuel Stout.

Remembrances may be sent to the National Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
