Eliminated from the race for the Western Athletic Conference title two days earlier, Ceres High School's junior-varsity boys basketball team took its frustration out on host Central Valley.

The Bulldogs won the crosstown showdown, 64-47, on Friday.

"We had a lot of fun," Ceres High standout guard Joshneil Sandhu said.

Ceres High posted a 20-6 overall record and placed second in the WAC with a 10-2 record.

Central Valley (0-11) closed out the conference season on Tuesday at first-place Central Catholic. The score was unavailable before the Courier went to press.

Sandhu totaled a team-high 14 points against the Hawks last week.

Ramon Coral, Brad Bussard, Brent Bussard, Juan Anderson and Will Hilgen added 11, nine, eight, six and five points, respectively.

Nick Burt and Caleb McDade both scored four points.

Blake Tobler had three points.

Central Valley's Robert Preciado poured in a game-high 20 points.

Josh Villegas, Julio Pena, Nimrat Chahal and Alexis Villa added five, four, three and two points, respectively.

Ceres High dominated from start to finish against Central Valley.

The Bulldogs outscored the Hawks 21-5 in the first quarter and led 40-14 at halftime. Joshneil, Brad and Ramon tallied 10, nine and eight points, respectively. Coral starred on Central Valley's freshman boys basketball team last year.

"We were focused," Sandhu said. "We were really confident. We just played our game. We were pushing the ball up the court."
