Adam Kim, 35, of Ceres, was arrested for drunken driving on Saturday after an officer pulled over his Jeep Wrangler because his female passenger was not wearing a seatbelt.

Officer Fredrico Ortiz made the traffic stop near Morgan Road and Whitmore Avenue after he saw the violation and also saw Kim cross over into opposing traffic lanes while making a turn onto Morgan Road from Hackett Road. Ortiz detected a strong odor of alcohol and learned both had been drinking. Kim was arrested after a field sobriety test. He provided a breath sample which indicated he was nearly double the legal limit. The Jeep was towed and Kim was booked at the Public Safety Center for misdemeanor DUI.

The passenger was released to a brother.
