Two men peering into cars arrested on warrants

Ceres Police arrested two men who appeared to be intoxicated after crashing their vehicles in separate incidences in a two-day period.

Samuel Beets, 46, of Ceres, was arrested Tuesday morning, April 3 on suspicion of driving under the influence after he ran his car into a planter box near the intersection of Eastgate Boulevard and Hatch Road.

The crash occurred at 1:09 a.m.
Ceres Police Officer Coey Henson noticed that Beets appeared to have intoxicated and had him undergo a series of field sobriety tests. He agreed to a breath test at the scene and blew a 0.28 percent blood alcohol content. He was booked for driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage with a blood alcohol level above .08 percent.

At 3:16 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4 officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of Whitmore Avenue for a car crash into a fire hydrant near Taco Bell. Officer Kevin Sakasegawa arrived and believed driver Cristian Hernandez, 18, of Modesto, was drunk.

Hernandez's blood alcohol level was 0.11 percent at the time of his arrest. He injured was booked for driving under the influence and driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level above .08 percent.
