A 20-year-old Ceres driver was arrested early Thursday morning for drunken driving after police stopped him for speeding near the intersection of Rhone Drive and Boothe Road.

Officers were clearing a visit made to a domestic disturbance in the 1600 block of Boothe Road at about 2:51 a.m. when they heard a black Infinity traveling at a high rate of speed and conducted a traffic stop. Dante Smith, 20, of Ceres, displayed obvious signs of being intoxicated. Officer Kiashira Ruiz completed an investigation and arrested Smith for driving under the influence. His Blood Alcohol Concentration registered 0.13 percent. Smith was booked for driving under the influence and driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level above .08 percent.
