Alex Garcia, 29, of Turlock and Nikki Hager, 33, of Keyes, were arrested together after they allegedly stole a bottle of booze at Cost Less Foods on Hatch Road and then fought with the loss prevention officer trying to stop them.

Police were called at 8:38 p.m. on Jan. 15 when the store employee got into a physical fight with the couple.

The loss prevention officer told police that he saw Garcia and Hager walk to the liquor aisle and saw her place a bottle of Jack Daniels in her purse. They both walked out of the store without paying. When the employee tried to stop them, both resisted and a physical fight ensued. Other store employees' assisted the loss prevention officer in detaining the individuals until police arrived.

Garcia and Hager were both arrested and booked for conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Garcia was on probation and was also charged with probation violation.
