Central Valley begins WAC track and field season

Hawk Chase Bogart swept the 3,200, 1,600 and 800 versus the Wolves.

Central Valley's varsity boys track and field team opened the 2018 Western Athletic Conference dual-meet campaign with a 96-40 loss to Livingston on March 28 in Ceres.

Chase Bogart accounted for 15 of the Hawks' points.
Bogart swept the 3,200 (12:28), 1,600 (4:59.20) and 800 (2:13.02).

Andres Rojo totaled 13 points.

He placed first in the 400 (52.33) and 200 (22.88), and third in the high jump (5-2).

Benjamin Barajas placed second in the discus (105).

Patric Senesom placed second in the 110 hurdles (17.71) and third in the long jump (17-8).

Sebastian Pena placed third in the 100 (11.54).

Enrique Martinez placed third in the 1,600 (5:05.77).

Central Valley's varsity girls track and field team dropped its WAC dual, 92-35, to Livingston last week.

Chetna Kumar tallied 11 points.

She placed first in the 100 (13.36), and second in the 200 (28.40) and long jump (16-1).

Younger sister Anusha Kumar collected eight points.

She placed first in the 100 hurdles (18.02) and second in the high jump (4-2).

Kimberly Haley placed second in the discus (71-2).

Mykayla Arcenal placed second in the shot put (25-3).

Emily Curiel placed second in the 300 hurdles (58.30) and third in the 100 hurdles (20.48).

Sylvia Villegas placed third in the discus (62-4).

Esther Esceverri placed third in the 400 (1:14).

Dana Miranda placed third in the 3,200 (18:22).
