Ceres High girls place second at league finals

Bulldog Allison McAdams placed third in the 200 IM at the league finals. Ceres High totaled 139 points en route to a runner-up finish in the team standings.

Ceres High's varsity girls swim program racked up 139 points while finishing second overall at the Western Athletic Conference Championships on April 28 in Los Banos.

Los Banos (179) captured the team title.

Pacheco (77), Central Valley (61), Patterson (510 and Livingston (9) placed third, fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively.

"It's a win in our eyes," coach Dylan Hines said. "Everyone improved their times."

Jullissa Arreola placed first in the 500 free.

The race consists of 20 laps.

"We had her do a bunch of events throughout the season," Hines said. "The 500 free is her favorite. She likes the challenge. For a lot of people, the thought of doing the 500 free is scary. Jullissa has the ability to pace and push herself at the same time."

Kassandra Armas placed first in the 200 free and second in the 100 fly.

She set a personal record in the 200 free.

"Every day, she gives her best effort," Hines said. "She's very hard on herself. She wants to be perfect."

Allison McAdams placed third in the 200 IM.

Alene Feld placed fourth in the 100 breast and fifth in the 500 free.

Katherine Hensley placed fourth in the 200 free and ninth in the 100 breast.

Paulina Miramontes placed fifth in the 100 back.

Savannah Zielke placed fourth in the 100 fly and sixth in the 200 IM.

Tania Garfias placed sixth in the 50 free and 100 free.

Emily Wolff placed seventh in the 100 fly and 12th in the 200 free.

Gurpinder Bahia placed seventh in the 100 free and 13th in the 50 free.

Makayla Estermann placed eighth in the 100 breast and ninth in the 200 IM.

Jocelyn Barajas placed ninth in the 100 fly.

Ninweh Gorges placed 10th in the 200 free and 100 free.

Micaela Franco placed 10th in the 200 IM and 21st in the 100 free.

Silver Harvey placed 11th in the 500 free.

Savannah Jordan placed 15th in the 200 free and 16th in the 100 free.

Kayla Sierras placed 15th in the 100 back and 28th in the 50 free.

Ashley Colunga placed 16th in the 200 free.

Natalie Castillion placed 16th in the 100 back and 45th in the 50 free.

Emiley Campidonica placed 17th in the 100 breast and 23rd in the 50 free.

Sabrina Taylor placed 18th in the 100 breast and 55th in the 50 free.

Letzi Esparza placed 24th in the 100 free and 26th in the 50 free.

Elizabeth Piceno placed 29th in the 100 free and 64th in the 50 free.

Angelic Sandoval placed 30th in the 100 free.

Yesenia Colunga placed 31st in the 100 free and 58th in the 50 free.

Kiana Garcia placed 32nd in the 100 free and 60th in the 50 free.

Alondra Carranza placed 37th in the 100 free and 71st in the 50 free.
