Ceres High's varsity football team remained winless in Western Athletic Conference play after falling 46-15 to Pacheco Friday night at Bulldog Stadium.

The Bulldogs suffered their fifth straight loss.

"Our kids are trying their best," head coach Bret Durossette said. "They keep fighting."

Ceres High dropped to 3-6 overall and 0-4 in the WAC standings.

The Panthers improved to 5-4 and 3-1.

The Bulldogs won three of their first four games.

Livingston eliminated Ceres High from playoff contention with a 47-23 victory on Oct. 20.

"We've had some injuries and kids quit," Durossette said.

The Bulldogs had just 150 yards of total offense versus the Panthers.

Sophomore quarterback Dalton Durossette completed 8 of 18 passes for 77 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.

Fullback Felipe Martinez caught two passes for 8 yards and one TD.

Running back Andrew Gibson finished with 38 yards on three receptions.

Ceres High managed to gain just 73 rushing yards on 30 carries.

Martinez carried the ball 12 times for 46 yards and one touchdown.

Gibson added 35 yards on 11 attempts.

The Bulldogs faced a 32-8 deficit at halftime.

"We came out flat," coach Durossette said. "We had some penalties and breakdowns in coverage. Pacheco has a good squad. They're big and physical. We didn't stop them all night long."

Ceres High has been outscored 197-70 in WAC play.

"Every aspect of our game is not working," Bret Durossette said. "We're not clicking. We're having a difficult time."

The Bulldogs will close out the 2017 season against the crosstown-rival Central Valley Hawks (4-5, 1-3) this Friday at Ceres High.

The contest will begin at 7 p.m.

"We match up well," coach Durossette said. "We'll have an opportunity to have some success."
