Victoria Silveria and Iain McCarthy enjoyed success-filled 2016 campaigns with the Ceres Dolphins recreational swim team this summer.

"They're talented," coach Jon Olanolan said.

Silveria (11-12 girls) and McCarthy (9-10 boys) were both awarded overall High-Point trophies for dominating their respective age groups at the Mid-Valley Swim League Championships on July 23 in Turlock.

Victoria swept the 100 free, 50 free and 50 fly.

Iain placed first in the 100 free and 50 free, and third in the 50 fly.

Victoria didn't lose an individual race the entire season.

She had a perfect 21-0 record.

Silveria took first in the 100 free, 50 free and 50 back while capturing High-Point trophies at the Tracy and Sea Dogs Invitationals.

"She's pretty good in everything she does," Olanolan said. "Her starts. Her underwater. Her turns. Her stroke. She's an amazing swimmer to watch. She's quiet and humble. All the little kids look up to her. If she continues to work hard, she'll go on to dominate the high-school level."

McCarthy compiled a 10-7 record.

He had nine first-place finishes, two seconds, two thirds and one fourth.

Iain finished first in the 100 free and 50 free, and fourth in the 50 fly on his way to claiming a High-Point trophy at the Sea Dogs Invitational.

"He was one of the strongest freestylers in league," Olanolan said.
