Fed up with city choices

Editor, Ceres Courier,

Exactly whose pockets are city taxes going into? You have wasted millions on trying to fix downtown, which will never work. There is nothing to go to downtown, and if anyone wanted to, you make it so pricy that they can't afford it.

Our streets are a mess.

Our parks are not beautiful anymore.

I could go on and on, but why beat a dead horse?

Can the city just say they are going to raise water rates without going to the people? This sounds like Congress (which is the opposite of progress.) The City Council sets the on their thrones and just does what it wants and no one says a word. Well, I'm fed up with it and speaking out. At least I can put I can still put in my two cents worth.

Jim Mott,
Ceres

(Editor's note: The public will have an opportunity to provide input on the proposed water rates. The raising of water rates cannot occur unless a Prop. 218 protest hearing is held. If at least 50 percent plus one of Ceres household lodge a written protest then the rates cannot be increased).
