Prasad Bruj, 38 of Modesto, was taken into custody on Tuesday afternoon, June 16, after it was reported that he was suspicious as he was sitting inside a gray 2000 Chevy van parked in the Home Depot parking lot, 1415 Hatch Road.

An officer went to the scene at 12:36 p.m. and found Bruj who admitted that he was on active probation and searchable. As he stepped out of the van Bruj told the officer that he had a hypodermic syringe in the van. A search turned up heroin in a pink balloon stored in his pants pocket and a syringe was found by the driver's side door. Bruj was arrested and booked for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
