Illegal gun possession lands 36-year-old Ceres man in jail

A 36-year-old Ceres man who was prohibited from possessing any firearms due to a court order, was arrested in a Monday evening traffic stop and found with a loaded firearm.

Mark Trujillo was pulled over at 11:02 p.m. by Ceres Police Officer Eric Souza during a traffic enforcement stop in the 2500 block of Ninth Street. Trujillo had committed vehicle code violations in a 1999 Toyota Corolla.

During a search of the car, Officer Souza located the gun and made the arrest.

Trujillo was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of being in possession of a firearm due to a court order, possession of a firearm that was not registered to him and carrying a firearm in a public place.
