A 22-year-old Waterford man was arrested late Friday after he led Ceres Police on a vehicle pursuit while he had a two-year-old child in his car.

Officer Kevin Roseen attempted to pull over a dark-colored Camaro driven by Kaleb Haney for vehicle code violations at 11:05 p.m. During the attempted stop in the area of Hatch and Crows Landing roads, Haney floored it. Shortly into pursuit, the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department Air Unit assisted and observed the vehicle pull to the shoulder of the road in the area of W. Main Street and Carpenter Road. Officers converged on the vehicle and took Haney into custody.

Haney was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of evading police and child endangerment.
