Ceres library offers many July activities
Children, families can find free fun all month long

All ages are invited to visit the Ceres Library for free crafts and activities this July, beginning with Wee Move and Play on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and Wednesdays, July 5 and 19 at 11:30 a.m. This program features unstructured playtime for toddlers and preschoolers, during which they can enjoy movement and sensory play.

On Thursday, July 6 at 3:30 p.m. children will use card stock, pennies and markers to design balancing robots. These robots will be able to balance on a number of surfaces. This craft is sponsored by the Friends of the Ceres Library.

All ages can design their own hand puppets on Thursday, July 13 at 3:30 p.m. Blank canvas hand puppets will be provided, as well as craft materials needed to personalize each one.

A drop-in knitting program will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays, July 15 and 29. This program is designed for beginning knitters or those who need help with a current knitting project. Participants are welcome to bring their own knitting materials or use materials provided by the library.

The library will host a unique LEGO-themed craft on Thursday, July 20 at 3:30 p.m. Children and teens will learn how to make their own fidget spinners using LEGOs. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Ceres Library.

Children and their families can enjoy the "Didgeridoo Down Under" show on Friday, July 21 at 12 p.m. This Australia-themed show combines music, art, puppetry, comedy and science to promote tolerance and respect for all people and cultures.

This program is best for ages four and up, however all ages are welcome to enjoy this interactive and educational show.

The Ceres Library Book Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26. This month, the book club will discuss The Postmistress by Sarah Blake. The Ceres Library has a limited number of copies available for checkout. Please visit the circulation desk to reserve a copy.

Children are invited to enjoy making a mess with a Do-It-Yourself slime program at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 27. Participants will have an opportunity to make slime to take home. Children 5 and under will require parent or adult guardian supervision and assistance. The DIY Slime program is sponsored by the Friends of the Ceres Library.
