Three occupants of two vehicles were rushed to local hospitals with serious injuries Wednesday evening after they were involved in a grinding head-on crash at Hatch Road and Eastgate Boulevard during the evening commute.

The driver believed responsible for the crash, Johan Cisneros, 19, of Modesto, was pinned inside the wreckage and had to be extricated by Modesto firefighters.

According to the Ceres Police Department, Cisneros was driving a Honda Civic westbound on Hatch Road at approximately 5:20 p.m. when he crossed the center line and went into the eastbound lane where he struck a Kia Soul. In that vehicle was driver Jerry Brackenridge, 71, of Keyes and his wife Kathy Brackenridge, 69.

All three sustained serious injuries and were rushed to local hospitals.

None of the injured parties recalled the moment of the crash, which is not uncommon due to shock, said Ceres Police Department spokesman Lt. Jeff Godfrey.

Police cleared the scene at 6:20 p.m.

Ceres Police urges anyone who may have witnessed the crash or anything about what happened to call Community Service Officer David McCann at 209-595-6068.
