THREE STABBED AT PARTY: CERES - Three persons were stabbed at a Saturday evening party in the 3700 block of Waynesboro Drive.

Residents there were hosting a party for a man who just completed boot camp when a carload of six to eight persons showed up at 11:38 p.m. and forced their way inside the home. The party-goers put up a fight to stop the men after realizing they were up to no good, said Lt. Rick Collins of the Ceres Police Department. A fight ensued outside the house and worked its way inside. "It was just a big melee after that," said Lt. Collins.

The chief suspect pulled a knife and stabbed three men. One victim was stabbed 10 times and one man was stabbed in the scrotum. A third man who was stabbed was released after treatment. All three were treated at Modesto hospitals.

Police are investigating the crime and have yet to identify a suspect. He was described as a large hispanic male.

Collins said the suspect showed up at a Modesto hospital seeking treatment for a stab wound but left after becoming spooked.

COUPLE JAILED ON CHRISTMAS: CERES - A Modesto couple was jailed Christmas Day after a Ceres police officer pulled their car over and found drugs inside.

Officer Brinton Moore first saw the car in Ceres and was unable to stop it until it reached Tuolumne Boulevard at Highway 99 in Modesto. When learning that both were on parole, the officer searched the car. Passenger Sommer Andreas, 27, of Modesto, was arrested after being found in possession of methamphetamine in a makeup bag.

Officer Vanessa Garcia was called out to do a personal search and found Andreas had a small bindle of heroin tucked away in her waistband. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance and a probation violation.

Mark Gilkey, 24, of Modesto, was also arrested because he was driving on a suspended license.

Both Gilkey and Andreas were on probation and searchable for drugs.

The incident occurred at 4:20 p.m.

DRUGS FOUND IN CAR: CERES - A Ceres man was arrested Saturday evening after he nearly cut off a Ceres officer on the road and was later found to be in possession of drugs.

Justin Seward, 33, of Ceres, was arrested at 11:20 p.m. for possession of a controlled substance. He was driving on a suspended license because of a prior failure to appear in court.

Officer Travis Hudson was northbound on Morgan Road approaching Hackett Road as he watched Seward flying around the corner. The white four-door Infinity cut into the officer's lane.

Hudson went after the driver and pulled him over at Tranquil Lane west of Morgan Road. Seward was on probation for domestic violence. Hudson found a baggie of a white crystalline substance in the driver's side compartment. The suspect said he just let his girlfriend use his car but admitted that he uses methamphetamine from "time to time."
