• DRUG ARREST MADE: CERES - Police Street Crimes Unit officers stopped bicyclist Richard Raindille, 44, of Keyes, in the 600 block of River Road at 7:39 p.m. on Monday, June 4 and found him in possession of heroin and methamphetamine.

Raindille was booked on charges of possession of narcotics and violating the terms of his probation.

• ROAD RAGE AGAINST DETECTIVE: CERES - A commercial truck driver may lose his license after he showed aggression toward a Ceres Police detective who was driving an unmarked car in the area of Morgan Road and Montclair.

The detective said he was apparently driving too slow for the trucker at 1:47 p.m. on June 5 because the driver of the tractor-trailer rig passed him and stepped on his brakes suddenly, causing the officer to avert a crash.

The driver was not arrested nor was his name released pending possible charges from the district attorney's office and a license review by the Department of Motor Vehicles.

• PAROLEE ARRESTED: CERES - Parolee John Brown, 43, of Ceres, was peddling a bicycle at 8:20 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6 when he was pulled over by an officer for bike violations and found to be wanted on a no-bail warrant from the Stanislaus County Alternative Work Program.

• DRUGS, FAKE BILL FOUND: CERES - Julian Ornelas, 36, of Modesto, was arrested and charged with possession of a counterfeit $50 bill and violating the terms of his parole during a traffic stop at 12:35 a.m. on Thursday.

Ornelas was driving when he was stopped in the area of Herndon Road and Pecos Avenue. During the traffic stop the officer saw him try to hand off a wallet to a female passenger sitting next to him. The wallet contained the counterfeit money.

• WEAPONS FOUND ON ALLEGED POT USER: CERES - Lamen Glover, 38, of Riverbank, was arrested for weapons and drugs during a Thursday traffic stop of his car at Latimer and Avon avenues.

When Glover was stopped at 1:29 a.m., the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car. Glover admitted smoking pot. He was searched and found with a fixed blade knife hidden under his shirt, along with Vicodin and a stun gun, which he was not allowed to carry.

Glover was booked on charges of possession of a dagger, controlled substance and a stun gun.

• BIKE STOP YIELDS DRUGS: CERES - A 38-year-old transient man was arrested Wednesday, June 6, after he was stopped on his bicycle and found with drugs after trying to flee.

At 10:42 p.m. Street Crimes Unit officers were patrolling the area of Ninth Street and Latimer Avenue when they spotted Isaac Berrera riding a bike. Berrera attempted to flee from the officer and when he was captured was found with methamphetamine.

He was charged with resisting arrest and possession of narcotics.

• DRUG ARREST: CERES - Ignacio Valencia, 56, of Modesto was arrested Thursday evening on charges of being under the influence of methamphetamine and possession of a counterfeit $20 bill.

Officers made contact with Valencia at 10:13 p.m. at Herndon Road and Sam Avenue. He was booked on possession of a controlled substance, possession of counterfeit money and being under the influence.

• ROAD RAGE CALL LEADS TO ARREST: CERES - Police received calls about road rage between drivers of two cars in the 1300 block of Kinser Road early Saturday morning.

Officers responded to the area at 12:26 a.m. and saw the reported red car and white car leaving each other at Hackett and Kinser roads but only one driver was stopped.

Alex Varva, 18, of Ceres, was found to be driving under the influence and had suspended license.

He was booked on both charges.

• BIKE STOP ENDS IN ARREST: CERES - A Monday evening bike stop did not go well for Francis Baroncini, 48, of Ceres,. On probation and searchable for methamphetamine, Baroncini was found in possession of controlled substance and parole violation.

Baroncini was stopped on his bike in the area of Glasgow Drive and Deblyn Court.

• DRUGS LEFT IN BATHROOM: CERES - Employees of Taco Bell on Herndon Road found drug paraphernalia in the restroom Sunday which a suspect later tried to claim before police arrived.

Police were called at 10:44 a.m. about the contraband left behind by a restroom user who left on a bicycle. Casey Ballard, 31, of Ceres, tried to reclaim his lost property but was told police were called. Ballard left the restaurant but was later found by officers. Since he was on parole, he was searched and found with heroin on his possession.

Ballard was charged with possession of heroin and parole violation.

•UNSTABLE TEEN APPREHENDED: CERES - A mentally unstable 19-year-old Ceres teen was apprehended Monday evening after he was seen jumping in front of cars and throwing things at them in the area of Moffet and Fowler roads. The teen was acting hostile when detectives spotted him at 6:46 p.m.

The man was taken to his parents' home on Anthony Avenue.

The teen said he had been assaulted previously at the Ceres skate park but park users said the man had been throwing a bike around and creating a disturbance.
