An 18-year-old Modesto man was arrested after he led Ceres Police on a pursuit late Thursday evening after they watched him driving recklessly in an orchard.
At 11:57 p.m., Officer Charles “Chuck” Lord-Huff was patrolling the area of Ustick and Don Pedro roads when he observed two vehicles being driven recklessly in an orchard. One of the vehicles, a red Jeep Cherokee, came out of orchard, turned off the headlights and began traveling northbound Ustick Road with the officer following in an attempt to stop the driver, Francisco Monjardin Medina, 18, of Modesto. Medina tried to flee, causing a police pursuit through residential areas north of Whitmore Avenue. Medina finally pulled into a driveway in the 800 block of Lassen Avenue where he was arrested.
Three passengers were released from the scene.
Medina was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for evading police in a vehicle and driving without a license.
