A 61-year-old man from Modesto with a history of driving while drunk was arrested in a Ceres traffic stop on Thursday evening.
At 9:23 p.m., Ceres Police Officer Kyle Hatcher was patrolling the area of River Road near Bunker Road when he stopped Phonsavanh Sosongkham for vehicle code violations allegedly committed in a Land Rover.
Sosongkham immediately appeared to be impaired and was ordered through field sobriety tests, which indicated he was under the influence of alcohol.
Sosongkham was arrested for DUI and provided breath samples showing him over the legal limit of alcohol to drive. Sosongkham was found to have a license suspended for DUI. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for DUI and driving on a license suspended for DUI.
