A traffic stop made Monday evening on a 65-year-old Modesto woman resulted in her arrest for possession of meth and four arrest warrants.
Officer Jordan Justice was patrolling the area of Richland Avenue and Stonum Road at 11:33 p.m. when he stopped Umlesh Varma, 65 of Modesto for vehicle code violations she allegedly made in her Toyota Avalon. The officer ran her Varma’s drivers’ license number and learned from dispatchers that she had four arrest warrants related to charges of drug possession, traffic violations and resisting arrest.
During a search of the vehicle, Officer Justice located a baggy containing a white crystalline substance suspected of being methamphetamine.
Additionally, it was determined Varma was driving on a license that was suspended for a prior DUI. Varma was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the various charges.
