A 26-year-old Modesto man was arrested on Mitchell Road at River Road early Monday after he struck the curb and a city sign while allegedly intoxicated.

The crash occurred at 12:15 a.m. and left the car disabled.

Ceres Police were dispatched to the area on reports of a driver being reckless and involved in a crash. Officers found a gray Toyota Yaris in the southbound lane of Mitchell Road pointed the wrong direction near River Road. The car had a flat tire and appeared to have been in a traffic collision. There was also an oil trail from a curb it struck down the road, to where it came to rest.

Driver Jorge Ninomanzo, 26, of Modesto, was in the driver’s seat and appeared to be drunk but not injured. Ninomanzo was arrested for DUI and gave a blood sample, which will reveal his blood alcohol content level at a later date. Ninomanzo was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of DUI and driving without a license.
