Assault of woman ends in arrest of relative
• Police say Brian Washington choked female with phone cord

Brian Washington, 28, of Ceres, was arrested Thursday for allegedly forcing his way into the home of a female family member and choking her with a phone cord and threatening to kill her. 

The crime was reported at 1:14 p.m. in the 2000 block of Milky Way. When Officer Matt Berlier arrived Washington had left the scene and despite an extensive search of the surrounding area could not find him. At about 5 p.m. Sergeant Vince Hooper spotted Washington and arrested him. He was booked for charges of burglary and making terrorist threats.

The victim had moderate injuries but declined medical treatment.
