A Modesto woman was arrested for stealing a car in the parking lot of Cost Less Foods on Hatch Road on Saturday.

The auto theft was reported at 2:22 p.m.

About an hour later, Officer Jeremy Caron was patrolling the area of Darrah Street and Central Avenue looking for the stolen gold-colored 1994 Mazda 626. He spotted the vehicle at the floral shop on Central Avenue and contacted the woman standing next to vehicle.

Josell Linares, 30, of Modesto, was in possession of a shaved key. She was arrested for auto theft and receipt of stolen property.
