Wells Fargo Bank officials in downtown Ceres called police at 9:28 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10 to report a man trying to pass a stolen check made out to himself.

Christopher Warren, 34, of Modesto, was detained and told officers that he bought the check on Craigslist. He was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property, check fraud, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
