A Sunday evening stop of a bicyclist for vehicle code violations netted the arrest of a man on drug charges.

At 11:31 p.m., Ceres Police Officer Greg Houser was patrolling the area of Hatch and Herndon roads when he stopped Dante Woods, 43, of Modesto on his bike.

While searching Woods’ sweatshirt, Officer Houser located a white crystalline substance along with a glass pipe commonly used for smoking methamphetamine. A records check on Woods revealed he had two or more prior convictions for possession of a controlled substance.

Woods was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with two or more priors and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
