Burglar arrested after leaving cell phone in car he broke into
Burglar Dylan Prasher
Dylan Prasher left his cell phone in the car he broke into on Fantasy Lane, said Ceres Police.

A 26-year-old Modesto man was arrested after he broke into a car in the 800 block of Fantasy Lane on Wednesday, June 12.

At 9:27 a.m. Ceres Police officers Nathan McCough and Matthew Berlier investigated the burglary in which a resident’s vehicle parked in the driveway, had been broken into. The garage door to the residence was opened using the opener in the victim’s vehicle. The vehicle and garage had been ransacked and several items stolen.

The detective work was made easy because burglary suspect Dylan Prasher, 26, of Modesto, had apparently left his cell phone in the car. Officers checked the cell phone to identify the owner and found a Facebook profile logged into by Prasher. Further research into law enforcement databases, revealed that Prasher was on probation for burglary.

Officers coordinated with the Stanislaus County Probation Department and together, went to Prasher’s residence where they found him and property stolen on Fantasy Lane. Prasher was arrested and faces charges of burglary and probation violations.
