Two men were arrested in an early Monday morning traffic stop in the 3500 block of Brown Avenue.
At 3:28 a.m. Ceres Police Officer Coey Henson was on patrol when he saw a truck driving around and the officer had probable cause to stop the driver, Tommy Rhodes, 25. Rhodes was driving on a suspended license and could not answer questions as to what he was doing in the area. On probation for burglary, Rhodes was charged with possession of stolen property, possession of methamphetamine and driving on a suspended license.
His passenger, Chad Ware, 32, was also on probation for grand theft and possession of controlled substance. He was searched and found to also have methamphetamine.
In another west side case, Vernon Kekua, 48, was arrested March 3 at 5 p.m. after someone reported him acting suspiciously in the 2700 block of Railroad Avenue. New Ceres Officer Matt Berlier spoke to Kekua and found him in possession of methamphetamine.
He was booked for possession of meth.
