A set of bolt cutters and shaved keys prompted a Ceres Police officer to arrest a 27-year-old Riverbank man early Friday outside the Hatch Road McDonald’s near Highway 99.

A citizen called police at 4:05 a.m. to report that three men were loitering outside the closed business and possibly using illegal drugs. Officer Matthew Myers contacted the three and discovered that one of them, Tanner Pierce, 27, of Riverbank, had a warrant for his arrest and was on searchable probation. A search of his backpack revealed he was carrying bolt cutters and shaved keys, considered burglary tools.

Pierce was booked for the warrant and possession of burglary tools.
