A 36-year-old Modesto man and a 36-year-old Riverbank woman ended up being arrested for drug possession during an early Saturday morning traffic stop.
At 12:36 a.m., Officer Gurwinder Singh was patrolling the 900 block of Hatch Road when he stopped a Nissan Armada for vehicle code violations. Officer Singh contacted driver Teodoro Munguia, 36, of Modesto and passenger, Cecilia Abarca, 36, of Riverbank, and a records check revealed Munguia had a felony warrant for his arrest related to a prior auto theft.
A search of Abarca led to the discovery of a glass pipe used for smoking methamphetamine and the car yielded an additional glass pipe along with tinfoil that had a powdery residue on it.
Both subjects were booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center. During booking, Abarca admitted that she was carrying another glass pipe, methamphetamine and fentantyl.
Munguia was booked for the felony warrant, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
