Ramandeep Bansal, 28, of Ceres, was jailed on drunken driving charges early Saturday morning after he drove his car into a residence in the 3800 block of Pomegranate Avenue near Eastgate Drive.
Officer Charles Rushing saw Bansal standing on the driver's side talking on a cell phone with a 16-year-old male passenger. Neither were injured. As Rushing spoke with Bansal he could smell a moderate odor of alcohol on his breath. Bansal was given several field sobriety tests and determined to be drunk with a Blood Alcohol Content level of .21 percent. He was booked for driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage with a blood alcohol level above .08 percent and child endangerment.
