A 35-year-old Ceres man was arrested Sunday afternoon after a Ceres Police officer familiar with him and knowing that a warrant was issued for his arrest, pulled him over in a traffic stop.

At 3:31 p.m., Officer Aaron Pinon was in the area of El Camino Avenue and Fifth Street when he observed a Honda Civic driven by Jimmie Wheeler, 35, of Ceres. Officer Pinon conducted a traffic stop on Wheeler in the area of South Ninth Street and Latimer Avenue and arrested him.

Wheeler was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
