A 25-year-old Ceres man who was on probation was arrested on Monday evening Oct. 19 after he was stopped in a stolen vehicle.

At 6:12 p.m. Officer Justin Canatsy located a stolen orange 1990 Mustang being driven in the area of Darby Lane and Bridgewater Drive. Officer Canatsy followed the car until it pulled into a driveway and he blocked it in with his patrol car to perform a high-risk stop.

Driver Jesus Ruelas, 25, was arrested and charged with auto theft, possession of a stolen vehicle and probation violation.

The car had been previously stolen in Ceres, said Ceres Police Department spokesman Sgt. James Yandell.
