Ceres man arrested in Monday stabbing

A 38-year-old Ceres man was arrested Monday evening after he allegedly stabbed a 34-year-old man during a fight at the Hatch Road McDonald’s.

Ceres Police were notified of the stabbing at approximately 8:04 p.m. When they arrived they found the victim stabbed in the torso. First-responders and paramedics began treating his wounds. He was rushed to a local area hospital where he was listed in critical but stable condition.

Police identified Brandon Sells, 38, of Ceres as the attacker. Officer Kevin Rossen located Sells in the 2000 block of Fifth Street and arrested him on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon. Sells was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
