Ceres Police had to chase a man who fled from them in a Monday traffic stop made because he was wanted for a felony arrest warrant related to drug charges.

At 11:43 p.m., Officer Angel Murillo was patrolling the area of Hatch and Mitchell roads when he saw a Cadillac CTS being driven by Michael Saldivar, 49, of Ceres. Officer Murillo knew of the warrant and momentarily lost sight of the vehicle before he could pull Saldivar over. Murillo found the vehicle and conducted a vehicle stop but Saldivar ran.

While checking nearby businesses, Officer Murillo found Saldivar inside Donut Delite at 1460 Mitchell Road and made the arrest for the felony warrant.

Saldivar was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
