Brandon Cooksey, a 52-year-old Ceres resident with an extensive criminal record that includes drug possession and stolen property convictions, was back in jail on Saturday.
At 1:08 a.m., Officer Jacob Valenzuela was on patrol in the area of Laurel Avenue and Collins Road when he stopped the bicyclist for vehicle code violations. Through dispatch, it was determined Cooksey had a felony warrant for his arrest relating to auto theft. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for the warrant.
