After showing bruises to Ceres Police, an 81-year-old Ceres woman reported to officers on Saturday afternoon that she was being battered by her 61-year-old son who was then arrested on charges of elder abuse.

Officer Jessica Graham was dispatched to the 1600 block of Margaret Way at 4:33 p.m. to investigate the mother’s claims. She spoke to the victim who showed bruises James McCormick allegedly gave her. McCormick was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center where he faces charges of elder abuse.
