At 12:09 a.m., Officer Charles Lord-Huff was on patrol in the area of Hatch Road near Central Avenue when he spotted Jeremy Gooch, 34, of Ceres, speeding on a Ducati motorcycle and attempted to stop him. Gooch only accelerated onto northbound Highway 99. The officer asked the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office Air Unit to respond and track Gooch so that ground units to back off for safety reasons. The air unit tracked Gooch until he stopped at a home in the 2200 block of Kenneth Street in Modesto where officers converged on him and make the arrest.
While searching Gooch, Officer Lord-Huff located drug paraphernalia and a baggy containing a white crystalline substance suspected of being methamphetamine.
A records check revealed Gooch was on probation for evading police in a vehicle. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of evading police, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and a probation violation.
