A Honda Civic stolen in Merced was recovered on South Ninth Street Saturday morning after a Ceres Police officer spotted it being driven northbound in the southbound lane of Bystrum Road near Latimer.

At 4:59 a.m. the officer ran the plate as he followed the car onto South Ninth Street where he arrested Daniel Jacob Brown, 29, of Chowchilla in the parking lot of California Inn during a high-risk car stop. Brown was arrested and booked for possession of a stolen vehicle, stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools and driving without a license.
