A 31-year-old Ceres woman was jailed on multiple charges after she was stopped Wednesday morning, Sept. 10 in a stolen pickup by Ceres Police and lied about her identity.

At approximately 3:05 a.m., Officer Kyle Hatcher was patrolling the area of Herndon Road near Ploutz Road when he saw Sandra Ochoa, 31, of Ceres seated in a parked Dodge Ram pickup. A records check on the pickup came back as a Ford vehicle so as Officer Hatcher made his way back to the pickup, Ochoa got out of the vehicle and climbed into another vehicle which took off. Officer Hatcher stopped the vehicle and learned that the Ford was reported as stolen.

Ochoa was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and provided a false name to officers on scene. Ochoa’s actual identity was determined and revealed she was on probation for burglary. Ochoa was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for possession of a stolen vehicle, false registration, resisting arrest and providing a false name to a police officer.
