CHP searching for driver who hit woman, left her on Bystrum Road
Crash

The California Highway Patrol is looking for the driver who hit a woman walking on Bystrum Road just south of Pecos Avenue early Sunday and fled the scene.

The 34-year-old victim suffered major injuries and was rushed by ambulance to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.

Physical evidence left at the scene indicates that the vehicle that collided with the woman is a Lincoln Navigator manufactured between 2007 and 2014. The car should have damage to its right front headlight assembly and possibly the grill.

The Modesto CHP office hopes someone provides information on the vehicle or driver by calling CHP Detective Aaron Norseen at 209-545-7440 or to Crime Stoppers at 866-602-7463.

The crash was reported at approximately 2:28 a.m. on Feb. 1. Emergency personnel arrived on scene and located the badly injured woman adult lying on the shoulder. CHP’s preliminary investigation indicates that the car which struck the victim was northbound on Bystrum Road, approaching Pecos Avenue, and made contact with the pedestrian on the right front. The driver left the scene in an unknown direction.
