Trespassing and theft charges have been filed against Lloyd Costa, 30, of Ceres, who was caught inside the fenced business yard of Joe’s Auto Care, 1662 Herndon Road, on Christmas day.

At 11:09 a.m., Officers Adam Hall and Alex Ochoa were dispatched to the business regarding a man trespassing on the property.

Officer Hall located Costa within a fenced-in yard and watched as he opened the doors of vehicles. He called for backup.

As the officers looked for a way into the yard, Costa began running. He jumped the fence leading to Belmont Avenue with the officers eventually catching him in the 1600 block of Belmont Avenue.

Costa had property belonging to the business in his pockets. He was arrested and charged with theft and trespassing.
