A six-year Sheriff's Department investigation has led to the arrest of two men in connection with a 2011 gang-related slaying in South Modesto.

At 8:50 a.m. on Wednesday, detectives found murder suspect Hector Mendoza, 28, at his place of employment in Riverbank. He was arrested and booked for murder and criminal conspiracy in connection with the Nov. 26, 2011 shooting death of Samuel Gallardo, 22. The victim was shot in the parking lot of El Paraiso Bar at 1500 Crows Landing Road after midnight. Gallardo died after being rushed to a hospital.

On June 18 deputies arrested a second suspect, Jorge Delatorre, 26, at his home in the 400 block of Harriet Drive in Waterford. Delatorre was booked for murder, criminal conspiracy, and participation in a criminal street gang.

Armed with arrest warrants, Sheriff's detectives are still searching for the remaining two suspects - Tony Macias, 24, and Tomas Solorio, 27. Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the men are urged to call Detective Cory Brown at 567-4485. Anyone may leave an anonymous tip by calling Crime Stoppers at 521-4636.
