Device helps locate stolen car, driver arrested
Ceres Cop Car

A high-tech license plate scanner aboard a police vehicle driven by Officer Kiashira Ruiz helped identify a stolen car as it passed by her on Tuesday evening, March 8, which allowed her to arrest the driver.

At 10:59 p.m. Ruiz noted the device alerted on a car that just passed her. She came up behind the car and stopped the driver, Chad Wade, 33, of Ceres. He was arrested and booked for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of methamphetamine, possession of stolen property and probation violation.
