A 29-year-old Modesto resident’s decision to go riding a small dirt bike on Monday afternoon resulted in him being pulled over by a Ceres Police officer for several vehicle code violations. The officer would quickly learn about Jesus Prieto’s felony warrant which was his ticket to jail.

The warrant was issued in his name for a prior vandalism charge.

The arrest came at approximately 3 p.m. when Ceres Police Officer Lauren Huff was patrolling the area of Pecos Avenue near South Ninth Street and saw Prieto’s violations and stopped him. Once the records check confirmed the warrant, Officer Huff arrested Prieto and booked him into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
