A 34-year-old Ceres man was arrested Wednesday, August 3 after he drove his 2013 Chevrolet Camaro into a tree and left the scene.

The crash occurred in the area of El Camino and Poplar streets and was reported at 10:58 a.m. Witnessed reported that the driver walked off wearing a reflective construction vest. 

Officer Jose Andrade located Ricardo Barba, 34, of Ceres, down the street holding a bottle of whiskey. Officer Andrade noticed Barba displaying signs and symptoms of someone under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. At the conclusion of a DUI investigation, Barba was arrested and booked for DUI.
