A 51-year-old Modesto man was arrested early Thursday, Nov. 30 for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.
Officer Kiashira Ruiz was dispatched to the area of Central and Whitmore avenues at 12:52 a.m. for a report of a person following another in a dark-colored vehicle. Ruiz located the involved vehicle, a maroon-colored BMW driven by Issac Sarabia, who appeared intoxicated.
Sarabia told the officer that he only drank one beer and a shot of vodka about 30 minutes prior and was just starting to feel its effect. Ruiz had Sarabia perform a field sobriety test which indicated he was intoxicated. Sarabia was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Sarabia blew into the Breathalyzer which recorded a 0.11 percent blood alcohol content.
Sarabia was booked into the Public Safety Center for misdemeanor DUI.
