A Sunday evening traffic stop led to the arrest of a Modesto driver who was seen by the officer trying to hide a plastic bag filled with 15 grams of methamphetamine.

Officer Mike Vierra stopped a white Saturn Aura at 11:14 p.m. in the area of Richland Avenue and Evans Road. Driver Marcos Diaz, 27, of Modesto, threw a baggie to the ground in an attempt to get rid of it before Officer Vierra would find it. Vierra found the baggie and Diaz admitted to throwing it down because it contained meth and he didn't want to go to jail.

Marcos was arrested and booked into jail for possession of a controlled substance for sale.
