German Mendoza, 38, of Ceres was arrested early Sunday for an outstanding warrant after Ceres Police Officer Nicholas Welsh saw him speeding and blowing through a stop sign.

Welsh made the 2:04 a.m. traffic stop on a white 2015 Mercedes Benz at Mitchell Road and Whitmore Avenue. A routine warrant check revealed that Mendoza had an outstanding arrest warrant. He was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
